This Week's Bullet Points

1. Finally saw the film version of The Help. I liked it. I read the book two years ago. When first reading the book I pictured Viola Davis in the lead and lo and behold, they cast her. Also, the big house wherein Skeeter lives is spot-on to the house I had in my brain-head.

2. If I ever give up writing it will be because of all the damn promo. Ugh.

3. I finished SuburbaNights this week. Book three in my Jasper Lane series is finito! Go, Eric! Go, Eric!

4. The Killers have a new CD due out this year. OH MY GOD! IT'S BRANDON!! BRANDON, I LOVE YOU!!

5. Tomorrow and Saturday are big ol' Galley Proof promo days. I'll keep you all posted. I'm going to be doing a Good Reads "Meet the Author" thingy on Saturn Day from 1 to 6.

6. In my search for a new orthopedic surgeon, I have had my records sent to a doctor up in Greenwood. Fingers (and toes) crossed.

7. Why is it whenever anyone updates stories like the Oz books or Wonderland they're always dark and twisted? I don't mind a fresh retelling, but come on! After a while it's like "Oh, look. Another Oz steam-punk story."

Go Eric! Go Eric! :D

Heh, Meljean Brook's doing a hilarious series on her blog about being an author in our modern times. You might be able to relate to the promo bits.

Day 1. Day 2. Day 3. Day 4.

I was about to congratulate you on the new book, then saw, once again, you have designs on MY Brandon. You and I are gonna have to strip down, oil up, and rassle for first crack at Mr. Flowers.

Oh... Weirdest Oz I've seen... "Return to Oz" with Fairuza Balk. Dorothy went back with a chicken in tow, instead of Toto, after escaping from some kind of asylum.

Oh, it be ON, bitch!

Yeah, Return to Oz was a forced adaptation of the 2nd and 3rd books in the Oz series. The chicken is in the book too. Though, the second book has no Dorothy. Instead, it's about a boy who was born a girl and is turned back into a girl at the end. Would be a radical film for some daring director.
